Smart Scanner AI

Overview

Smart Scanner AI helps you capture or import document images, align page boundaries, create compressed PDFs, run OCR, translate extracted text, summarize documents, place a signature on a PDF, and optionally purchase Premium to remove ads and unlock Premium features.

The app does not create a Smart Scanner AI account. Most document files and scan metadata are kept in the app's private storage on your device unless you choose to share a generated PDF or run an AI feature that sends content to the Gemini API.

Information Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following information locally in app-private storage and the local database:

• Captured or imported document images.
• Generated PDF files and compressed PDF files.
• Document titles, timestamps, page counts, file paths, and file-size information.
• OCR text, translations, and summaries that you create in the app.
• Signature images used for optional PDF signing.
• Your Gemini API key, if you enter one, stored locally in Android SharedPreferences.
• A local Premium entitlement flag used to remember whether ads should be hidden on this device.

Camera, Photos, and Files

Smart Scanner AI can open the device camera to capture document pages and can import images you select through Android's document picker. The app uses Android FileProvider to create temporary camera capture files and to share generated PDFs only when you choose the share action.

The app does not upload your full document library to a Smart Scanner AI server.

Gemini AI Features

OCR, translation, and summary features require a Gemini API key that you provide. When you run these features, the app sends the relevant document image or extracted text to Google's Gemini API endpoint for processing.

Google may process those API requests according to its own terms and privacy documentation. Do not use AI features with documents that you do not want sent to Google's API.

Advertising

The app includes the Google Mobile Ads Next-Gen SDK and Google User Messaging Platform. These services may process device identifiers, app usage signals, approximate location derived from network information, ad interactions, and consent choices to provide, measure, and improve ads.

If you purchase Premium, Smart Scanner AI hides in-app ads while your Premium entitlement is active. Ad privacy choices may still be available in settings where required by law or platform policy.

Payments and Premium Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are sold and managed through Google Play Billing. Google Play processes payment details such as your payment method, billing account, tax information, and transaction authorization. Smart Scanner AI does not receive or store your full payment card number or Google Play payment credentials.

To provide Premium, the app receives and processes subscription information from Google Play Billing, such as available plan details, product and base plan identifiers, purchase state, purchase token, purchase acknowledgement status, and restore-purchase results. The app uses this information to start purchases, acknowledge completed purchases, restore active subscriptions, show subscription status messages, and decide whether Premium features such as ad removal should be active.

The app stores only a local last-known Premium status flag in app-private preferences. This local flag helps keep ads hidden after an active purchase is detected. Subscription management, cancellation, refunds, grace periods, account hold, and payment recovery are handled by Google Play under Google's policies.

Firebase

The app uses Firebase Analytics to measure app usage and feature interactions, such as scan starts, image imports, rotation, filter selection, PDF saving, document opening, sharing, deletion, optional AI actions, settings actions, advertising events, and Premium screen or purchase-flow interactions. These events are designed to avoid document titles, OCR text, translated text, summaries, Gemini API keys, payment card details, or full file contents.

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic information, such as device and app state around a crash, stack traces, and non-fatal errors. This helps Gagasoft find stability issues and improve the app.

Data Sharing

Smart Scanner AI does not sell personal information. Data is shared with third parties only when a feature requires it, such as Gemini API processing, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics diagnostics, Google Mobile Ads and consent services, Google Play Billing for Premium subscriptions, or Android system sharing that you initiate.

When you use Android's share sheet, the receiving app is responsible for how it handles the PDF or file you choose to share.

Deleting Data

You can delete documents inside the app. Deleting a document removes its saved page files and generated PDF files when those files are still present in app storage.

You can also delete app data by uninstalling Smart Scanner AI or clearing the app's storage from Android system settings.

Security

The app stores its local files in Android app-private storage. Your Gemini API key and local Premium status flag are stored locally on the device. Payment credentials are handled by Google Play rather than stored by Smart Scanner AI. No method of local storage or network transmission is perfectly secure, so avoid scanning or sending documents that require a higher security standard than this app provides.

Children

Smart Scanner AI is a productivity tool and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Policy Changes

This policy may be updated when app features, SDKs, advertising behavior, Firebase integration, support channels, or data handling practices change. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision.
