Qibla & Quran Privacy Policy

Qibla & Quran is built as an offline-first prayer times, Qibla direction, Salah tracking, Quran reading, and Home screen Quran widget utility. This policy describes the data used by the Android app.

Qibla and Quran app privacy visual

Data We Use

The app can use your approximate or precise location when you choose to calculate prayer times or Qibla direction. The app stores the selected latitude, longitude, city label, country code, timezone, prayer settings, alert preferences, Quran last reading position, per-surah recent reading places with update times, bookmarks, Quran reader appearance settings, Quran reader session count, Quran widget settings, widget content snapshots, widget background choices, local widget background image files you choose, local Salah check-in records, share-card cache files that you create, and a local Premium entitlement flag on your device.

If you submit a support inquiry, the app sends the category, message, optional reply email address, package name, app version, device model, Android version, and locale to our support service so we can respond and diagnose the request.

Location

Qibla & Quran does not need background location. Location is requested at the point of use, and you can enter coordinates manually. Stored coordinates are used locally for daily prayer time calculations and Qibla bearing.

Notifications and Alarms

If you enable prayer alerts, Android notification and exact alarm permissions may be requested. Alarms are scheduled on the device for selected prayer times and are recalculated after reboot, timezone change, or settings changes.

Salah Check-ins and Share Cards

Salah check-ins are created only when you tap a prayer as checked. These records are stored locally by date and timezone and are used to show today's progress, recent history, older Premium history, and optional share cards. A missing record means the app has no record for that day; it does not mean that a prayer was missed. When you choose to share, the app creates an image file in app cache and sends it only through the Android sharing option you select.

Premium Subscriptions and Payments

Premium subscriptions are sold and managed through Google Play Billing. Google Play processes payment details such as your payment method, billing account, tax information, and transaction authorization. Qibla & Quran does not receive or store your full payment card number or Google Play payment credentials.

To provide Premium, the app receives and processes subscription information from Google Play Billing, such as available plan details, product and base plan identifiers, purchase state, purchase token, purchase acknowledgement status, and restore-purchase results. The app uses this information to start purchases, acknowledge completed purchases, restore active subscriptions, show subscription status messages, hide ads, unlock older local Salah history, unlock personalized Quran widget modes and personal photo backgrounds, and unlock Premium Quran reading tools such as unlimited bookmarks, advanced appearance controls, focus mode, and recent reading places.

Advertising

The app includes Google Mobile Ads and Google User Messaging Platform. These services may process device identifiers, app usage signals, approximate location derived from network information, ad interactions, and consent choices to provide, measure, and improve ads. Non-Premium Quran screens may show native ads in the Surah list and a bottom banner in the reader; interstitial and app-open ads are suppressed on Quran reading surfaces. If you purchase Premium, in-app ads are hidden while your Premium entitlement is active.

Analytics and Diagnostics

The app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to measure feature interactions and diagnose crashes. Events may include app start, screen views, tab changes, location permission results, alert setup, ad events, Premium screen or purchase-flow interactions, Salah tracker usage, share-card creation, countdown recalculation, Quran home and reader usage, Surah or Ayah navigation numbers, bookmark actions, reader setting changes, focus mode actions, Quran widget setup, widget mode and background categories, widget tap or refresh actions, widget Premium gate interactions, and Quran Premium gate interactions. These events are designed to avoid exact prayer check-in times, payment card details, full location history, Quran text content, support inquiry message text, personal widget photos, or the destination app you choose when sharing.

Quran Reading

The Quran reader includes Tanzil Uthmani Arabic text and the Amiri Quran font as bundled assets for offline reading. Quran text is not downloaded at runtime, and the current build does not stream Quran recitation audio. The app stores your last Quran position, recent per-Surah positions, bookmarks, font size, line spacing, Ayah spacing, and reader session count locally to provide continue-reading, bookmarks, reader settings, Premium limits, and reading-place features.

The source and license screen can open Tanzil and Creative Commons web pages in your browser when you choose those links.

Quran Home Screen Widget

The Quran widget uses bundled Quran text and local Quran preferences to show an ayah on your Home screen. Widget mode, background preset, fixed ayah selection, bookmark cursor, manual-next state, and a cached widget snapshot are stored locally. If you choose a personal photo background, the app processes the image on your device, stores resized WebP files in app storage and no-backup app storage, and uses them only for the widget background. The widget does not upload your photo or download Quran text for widget content.

Third Parties

This build includes Google Play Billing, Google Play In-App Review, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Mobile Ads, Google User Messaging Platform, and our support inquiry service at iap.gagasofts.com when you submit a support request. Android system sharing is used only when you choose to share a generated card, and external Quran source or license websites are opened only when you choose those links.
