Information We Process
PrivaShield processes images that you choose in the Android Photo Picker or share to the app. The app may read photo EXIF metadata, including GPS location, capture time, device model, camera settings, and orientation, so it can show a safety summary and create a protected copy.
The app may also analyze visible image content on-device to detect faces, text that looks like names, phone numbers, email addresses, resident IDs, addresses, license plates, tracking numbers, QR codes, and barcodes.
Local Processing
Image scanning, EXIF removal, GPS location removal, OCR, face detection, barcode detection, and mosaic redaction are performed on the device. PrivaShield does not upload your photos to a Gagasoft server for these features.
Third-Party Services
- Google ML Kit is used for on-device face, text, and barcode detection.
- Google Play In-App Review may be requested after a successful protection flow.
- Google Mobile Ads test ads are enabled in debug builds. Production ads are disabled until real ad IDs and consent handling are configured.
- Firebase Analytics may collect app usage events, device identifiers, diagnostics, and related technical data to help understand app performance and feature use.
- Firebase Crashlytics may collect crash reports, stack traces, device state, operating system version, app version, and installation identifiers to diagnose stability issues.
- Google Play Billing is used only to manage PrivaShield Premium subscription status. Payment details are handled by Google Play.
Storage and Retention
The original image remains unchanged. Protected copies are saved in the app-specific Pictures folder on your device and can be deleted by you from the device or by clearing app storage. Temporary processing files may be stored in the app cache and are controlled by Android app storage cleanup.
Your Choices
You choose which images to inspect and which detected items to protect. You can select or deselect camera metadata, GPS metadata, detected faces, sensitive text, QR codes, and barcodes before creating a protected copy. You can delete saved protected copies at any time from your device storage. If you contact support, we will use your message only to respond to your request.
Children's Privacy
PrivaShield is not directed to children under 13. The app is intended to help users protect photos before sharing, including family photos, but it does not knowingly collect children's personal information on a server.
Policy Changes
We may update this policy when app behavior changes, such as enabling production ads, adding billing, adding a support backend, or changing analytics and crash-reporting behavior. The published policy should always match the app's actual permissions, SDKs, and data flows.
