GlucoWise Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Gagasoft handles information when you use the GlucoWise Android app. It applies to GlucoWise's own processing. Health Connect, Android system backup, Google Drive, Google Play, Google Mobile Ads, Firebase, and apps you select for sharing also process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

GlucoWise is a logging and review tool. It is not a glucose meter, continuous glucose monitor, medical device, diagnosis tool, or emergency service.

• Blood glucose readings you manually enter, including value, unit, meal timing, timestamp, status, and optional notes.
• Blood glucose records imported from Health Connect after you grant permission.
• Meal Reactions Lab records, including meal name, meal time, optional note, creation time, and links the app derives between a meal and nearby glucose readings.
• An optional meal photo selected by a Premium user. GlucoWise creates a resized WebP copy in the app's private internal storage; it does not need broad access to your photo library.
• App settings, such as preferred unit, target glucose range, and Health Connect auto-sync preference.
• Google account email and Google Drive backup status when you connect Google Drive for Premium backup.
• Premium subscription status returned by Google Play Billing.
• Usage and analytics information, such as screens opened, feature actions, result categories, whether an optional note exists, bucketed record counts, app-instance or advertising identifiers when available and permitted, and device or app information. Meal names, meal notes, meal photos, and actual glucose values are not included in GlucoWise's Firebase Analytics event parameters.
• Crash and technical diagnostics that may be processed through Firebase Crashlytics, such as Crashlytics and Firebase installation identifiers, stack traces, app version, device model, operating-system information, and technical state related to a failure.
• Advertising-related signals may be processed by Google Mobile Ads when ads are enabled for non-premium users.
• If you submit an in-app support inquiry: category, message, optional reply email, app/package and version, device model, Android version, and locale.

GlucoWise stores glucose readings, meal records, and settings in an on-device Room database. If you add a meal photo, the app stores a resized WebP copy under its private internal app storage. The source photo you selected remains under the control of the photo provider or gallery app.

The Meal Reactions Lab compares the meal time with nearby glucose readings and displays an observed before/after pattern. This matching and calculation occur on the device. The Lab is a personal journaling feature, not a clinical study, human-subject research project, or clinical trial, and GlucoWise does not contribute your meal or glucose content to research.

Gagasoft does not operate a GlucoWise account server that receives your glucose log, meal record, or meal photo as part of ordinary local use. Off-device cases are described separately below.

If you connect Health Connect, GlucoWise reads and writes blood glucose records only after Android permission is granted. Imported records are used for glucose logging, summaries, reports, and the on-device Meal Reactions Lab. Health Connect data is not used for advertising, credit decisions, data brokerage, or research.

You can review or revoke Health Connect access in GlucoWise or Android settings. Deleting a local GlucoWise record does not necessarily delete a separate copy previously written to Health Connect; use Health Connect's data controls to review or delete data stored there.

If a Premium user connects Google Drive, GlucoWise uses the selected account's private Drive app data folder. After connection, a backup can run when relevant records change and a network connection is available.

The GlucoWise backup contains glucose readings and notes, meal names, meal notes, meal and creation times, and app settings. The explicit GlucoWise Drive backup does not include meal photo files. Backup data is sent over HTTPS and is handled by Google Drive under the selected Google account.

Disconnecting Google Drive stops future GlucoWise-scheduled backups and signs the app out, but it does not by itself delete an existing backup already stored in the Drive app data folder. Google account and Drive controls can be used to revoke access and manage stored app data.

Android may back up or transfer eligible GlucoWise app data according to your device, Google account, backup settings, Android version, and device-transfer choices. Eligible data can include the app database, preferences, and internal app files such as a saved meal-photo copy.

This Android system service is separate from the Premium Google Drive backup described above. You can manage system backup from Android and Google account settings. Availability, retention, restore behavior, and deletion are controlled by the relevant Android or Google service.

When you choose PDF or CSV report sharing, GlucoWise creates a report file on your device and opens the Android share sheet. The report is sent only to the app, service, or contact you select.

Third-party apps that receive a report handle that file according to their own terms and privacy policies.

GlucoWise uses Firebase Analytics to understand feature use and reliability. The service may process app-instance information, device and app details, and an advertising identifier where Android, consent, and Analytics settings permit it. Research-lab events use limited categories and buckets, such as whether a note was present, how recently a meal was recorded, approximate record-count ranges, and whether a reaction had enough matched readings. These events do not contain the meal name, note text, meal photo, or actual glucose value.

Firebase Crashlytics may process installation identifiers, crash reports, stack traces, and technical diagnostics to help identify and repair failures. GlucoWise does not intentionally attach meal names, meal notes, photos, glucose values, or support-message text to analytics or crash events.

For non-premium users, Google Mobile Ads and its consent tools may process device, advertising, consent, interaction, and diagnostic signals to request, display, measure, and protect ads. Health Connect data, glucose-log content, meal content, and meal photos are not provided to Google Mobile Ads for advertising.

When you press Submit in the in-app support screen, GlucoWise sends the inquiry category, message, optional reply email, app/package and version, device model, Android version, and locale to Gagasoft's support service over HTTPS. This information is used to respond to the inquiry, diagnose the reported issue, operate support, and prevent abuse.

Providing a reply email is optional. Do not include glucose readings, meal photos, medical records, or other information that is not necessary for the support request. You may contact Gagasoft to request deletion of a submitted inquiry, subject to applicable legal or security retention requirements.

GlucoWise Premium is sold through Google Play Billing. Google Play processes payment information, subscription renewals, cancellations, and refunds. Gagasoft receives subscription status from Google Play but does not receive your full payment card details.

Premium currently unlocks ad removal, PDF/CSV doctor report sharing, Google Drive backup, glucose reminders, and optional meal photos inside GlucoWise.

• Health Connect blood glucose read/write: used to import existing blood glucose records and write manual readings you choose to sync.
• Google account and Drive app data access: used only when you connect Google Drive backup.
• Photo Picker: used only when you choose a meal photo. GlucoWise receives the selected item rather than broad photo-library access.
• Notifications and device restart: used to deliver enabled glucose reminders and restore reminder scheduling after restart or app update.
• Network access: used for Google Drive backup, Google Play Billing, support inquiries, public policy links, Firebase analytics and crash services, and ads when enabled.
• File provider access: used temporarily when you share a PDF or CSV report through Android's share sheet.

• You can delete individual glucose records inside the app.
• You can delete individual meal records inside the Lab. When a meal is deleted, its owned internal meal-photo copy is also deleted.
• You can change target ranges and preferred unit in settings.
• You can connect or disconnect Google Drive backup in the app settings.
• You can disconnect or revoke Health Connect permissions in Android settings.
• You can manage Android system backup and device-transfer settings through Android or your Google account.
• You can manage or cancel Premium subscriptions in Google Play.

Uninstalling or clearing GlucoWise removes its current local app data, subject to Android backup and restore behavior. Copies already stored in Health Connect, Google Drive, a system backup, or an app you selected for sharing must be managed through that service's controls.

Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, advertising, billing, and support providers retain information according to the applicable service settings, contractual terms, and legal or security requirements. Gagasoft retains support inquiries and information available through those services only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy. You may contact Gagasoft with an applicable access or deletion request; some information may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, billing, dispute resolution, or law.

GlucoWise uses Android private app storage for local records and HTTPS for support and Google Drive network transfers. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so only record or share information you are comfortable storing on your device and selected services.

GlucoWise is not designed solely for children and does not knowingly use Health Connect data for child-directed advertising. A parent, guardian, or qualified healthcare professional should supervise use where required by age, health needs, or local law.

We may update this policy to reflect product, legal, or platform changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
